So for all of you single ladies out there- I’ve been doing some research. (more like way too much magazine reading, please don’t judge). And according to Cosmo Magazine (again.. please don’t judge.. I was in a waiting room… I was bored…??) There are 3 tell-tale signs a guy is into you. So if your worried about asking that cute guy in the cubicle next to you, or that guy you’ve been stalking relentlessly on Facebook on a date… don’t be.
Are you ready for this?
There are “3 Clues He’s Secretly Into You”
1. He makes the okay sign.
Yes, that’s what I said. He actually takes his fingers and uncouncsiouly makes the “okay” sign while he’s with you. Do people actually do this??
My advice… if he makes the Ok sign.. run. fast. If he does this while out to dinner.. sprint. If he does this while you’re out at a bar… grab your pepper spray.
2. His thumbs point up.
As in he gives you a thumbs up. Seriously. Run.
3. He flashes the “I Love You” signal
Meaning he mindlessly flashes the I Love You sign in sign language. First off I’d be impressed he knew how to sign “I Love You” in sign language. This guy is probably smarter than the other two. But…run.
But really, who needs boys when you have brownies? And not just any brownies… yummy chocolate fudge brownies with chocolate chips in heart shapes topped with raspberry buttercream frosting. Mmmmm…!
If you hand your guy one of these and he gives you a thumbs up or an “Okay” sign… he’s a keeper :)
Here’s my little Valentine
To make these brownies I used a heart shaped mini cake pan. You can get these pretty much anywhere, especially right now because Valentine’s Day is in a few weeks. Try your local grocery store, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond.. etc. However, if you can’t find them these can be made in an 8x8 inch baking pan. Just cut them into squares and pipe the frosting onto the individual pieces.
I love that these brownies are bit sized (and adorable). They’re the perfect size for cocktail parties or a date night. Easy to pop in your mouth without worrying about getting anything stuck in your teeth and not too heavy to complement a holiday dinner.
Cheers!
Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Fudge Brownies with Raspberry Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 5 oz. semisweet chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 large egg yolk, at room temperature
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
- 16 oz powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon fat-free milk
- Position an oven rack on the middle rung. Heat the oven to 350°F. Spray heart shaped brownie tray with cooking spray OR spray an 8x8 baking pan with cooking spray and line bottom with parchment paper.
- In a double boiler over simmering water, melt the butter and both chocolates. (if you don’t have a double boiler, simmer water in a pan and place a heat proof bowl on top) Remove the pan from the heat; cool slightly.
- Whisk in the sugar and then the vanilla and salt. Whisk in the eggs and egg yolk, one at a time, stirring each time until blended.
- Add the flour, beating until thickened and smooth, 30 to 60 seconds. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter) clinging to it, 35 to 45 minutes.
- Set the pan on a rack until cool enough to handle. Gently remove the brownies from the heart shaped molds or run a paring knife around the inside edge of the 8x8 inch pan and then invert onto a flat surface and peel off the parchment. Flip the baked brownie back onto the rack to cool completely.
- Cream butter and raspberry jam until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar a milk and beat on medium speed until creamy.
- Using a pastry bag and tip, or cut the tip of a freezer bag, pipe frosting onto brownie bites.
